Founded in East London
Urban Notes was born in a rented perfume lab in Hackney, from a shared conviction that fine fragrance didn’t need to come from Paris to be world-class.
First Four Fragrances
Midnight Oud, Cedar & Salt, Golden Hour, and Amber Reverie launched online. Within six months, all four sold out twice.
Grasse Partnership
We formalised our sourcing relationship with a family-run grower in Grasse, securing direct access to some of the finest natural absolutes in the world.
The Collection Completes
With the addition of Dark Matter, Moss Garden, and Velvet Noir, the Urban Notes collection reached its full nine-fragrance expression.
The Discovery Set
We launched the Discovery Set after years of requests — a curated introduction to the full collection, presented as a gift-worthy object. to be world-class.

Craftsmanship
12 to 18 months, minimum.
Each Urban Notes fragrance goes through a minimum of 12 months of development before we consider it ready. Most take 18. We’ve shelved three that took two years each — because they weren’t right.
We work with a single house perfumer based between London and Grasse. Every formula is tested on multiple skin types, in multiple climates, across all four seasons. The version that reaches you is the one that passed everything.
